Is there anything more aggravating than cutting a straight edge while wrapping gifts? Arg! I have to hold the paper upright, fight the roll to keep it from beating a path across the room and make a straight cut without tears. Suffice it to say that my patience runs thin.
I waited until these arrived to start wrapping gifts to see how big a difference the angled blades make, and IT’S A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! Instead of having to practice yoga moves to cut a straight edge, I was able to guide the blades without issue across the entire length of the roll. I was also able to keep the paper rolled tighter because I needed less clearance to use these scissors. The blades are sharp and only needed a small cut to start a single slice down the paper. I’m sure they will dull over time, but I know how to use a whet stone. The handles are comfortable and big enough for a good grip without grabbing at your thumb when setting them down. There’s even a box cutter situated between the handles to remove the temptation of using the blades to cut into a box (they stay sharper).

The metal blades appear to extend all the way into the handles, making them quite durable. The handles have a soft, no-slip grip. They are comfortable to use. These scissors cut paper and cardboard very well. The blades are nice and tight, allowing for precise cuts. There are even two metal protrusions at the bottom of each handle which can be used as box cutters. I like the substantial weight of these scissors. They have a very solid feel about them. I think they will last for a long time. I definitely recommend them.

Like these scissors. They are solidly made and cut well. They cut through plastic packaging very well.
I also like that you can remove the hex bolt to disassemble these to sharpen the scissor blades more easily.

These Rapid Edge 9.5″ Heavy Duty Offset Scissors with Stainless Steel Blades just became my new favorites. I will use them in my workshop, but you should be able to use them almost anywhere you need a set of approximately nine inch scissors.
They abound with details. The standout features for me include:
– stainless steel blades
– serrated blade edge
– metal scoring tab on the back of the handle that you can use to open boxes sealed with shipping tape.
– comfortable handles
– good sizing
