Bought this as a gift for my husband and he loves it; he already had a utility knife but this one has the LED light so you can see exactly what you are cutting. Also it is very sharp. Works really well. It’s among his favorite tools to use now. He cuts up boxes for recycle. I’d buy it again and recommend it to others. It is a “cool tool.”

I bought these items for a couple of male family members after I saw the device on Cool Tools.
I thought they would be a safe way to work in tight and dark quarters with a potentially dangerous tool.
The guys thought it was a gimmick. I don’t know if my brother in law used it. My husband used it and said it was heavy duty and worked well. The added light was appreciated. I think he was being nice.

I’m giving this knife 4-stars because I haven’t received it yet. This is the only utility knife that I can find that has an LED facing the blade. As most of you have read, the LED is red colored. If it doesn’t provide enough light, it goes back. I contacted the manufacturer/seller and requested that they have clear or white LEDs as an option. That was several days ago and I haven’t heard a word. I suspect that in the coming years, many hand tools will be made available with clear or white LEDs. I have three knives (not utility knives) with integral LEDs that are very cleverly attached. So the technology has already been put to use on hunting knives. I will update this review when I receive the knife. Perhaps the red LED will be satisfactory but I like things bright.
