Knife works for my purpose because I needed an extra long blade. Only thing for me that would improve the unit is if it would have an integral storage area for spare blades. Not a show-stopper but would be very nice.

Needed a knife to cut 2" polystyrene foil-faced insulation for a roofover with metal roof panels, (Florida – metal pan roofing). 12" – 8 foot lengths out of a 4 x 8 sheet. The blades changed so easy, the knife was strong and rigid, safe, and easy to use. I've used many utility knives this is the best I've used.
(ps.- of course there was residue from the insulation, but nothing crazy, and the shop vac cleaned it up easy. I did three cut runs on each piece).

I needed a utility knife with an extra long flexible blade for cutting silicon sealer when removing a broken double pane window. I was able to get the job done due to Rapid Edge Extend-A-Blade's additional reach. The blade holder folds down into the handle for safe transport and storage like other folding utility knives and is constructed well with an ergonomic aluminum handle and a brushed steel blade holder. Changing blades is quick, with the push of a button to release the blade from the holder. The blade can be extended from a normal working position to two additional extended working positions by holding the same button down while pulling the blade out to two additional stops. The knife has a sturdy steel pocket clip and overall quality construction. It operates perfectly. I thought $12 was bit much for a utility knife when ordering but due to the quality materials and unique extendable blade feature, I now think the knife is a good value.

…but I like it because it has a much longer reach than the standard box cutters. Longer blade allows one to get closer to the area being cut without interference from the body of the handle. I used this for trimming excess screen in two tight places that I could not reach without a longer blade – solved my problem, although a pretty expensive box cutter, it is good quality and I'm sure I will get many years of use out of it.

This was exactly what I was looking for! I needed to cut 8' panels of 1 1/2" thick styrofoam into 11 1/2" wide strips, and I needed to make 30 cuts. It cut very well and I used only two blades, flipping each around after several cuts.

This Folding Knife is the best. It’s well manufactured, well designed. It’s heavy and sturdy, hand grip is perfect. I like the ability that it’s easy to extend the blade out and could easily cut through “3/4 inch ceiling tiles, honeycomb ‘3/4 inch thick. I even used it to cut 1 inch cardboard and did it very easy using the serrated blades just by extending the blade out to the maximum leight. So easy to handle. I highly recommend this to anyone working it the trades, warehouse, automobile repair. I searched starting out on line looking for a extended utility knife and this one by Rapid Edge is the only one out in the marketplace. The blades are well made and come standard or serrated. Cuts through rubber and so much more with ease. I give this a 5 star rating.
